It was a great for Blues Artist and Fans alike this past week in Memphis for the Blues Foundations annual Blues Music Awards week.  The 40th class saluted the blues in a variety of ways, and honored some of the greats in the genre from today and from the past.  Family and friends gathered to witness and accept honors that ranged from performers, to individuals, to Literature, to recordings and even a founder.    The Blues Music Awards was as usual full of suspense and excitement as hundreds gathered for the celebration.  There is a link to all the winners, all of the activities and all of the excitement on the BluesNews Page at Bluestimeinthecity.com…..Another great job by Barbara Newman and The Blues Foundation.  You know, you see people greeting other people that they have not seen in years.  Just a lot of excitement all over the great of Memphis Tennessee…..

And the Chicago Blues Festival is getting close.  The festival will take place June 7th through the 9th at Millennium Park in Chicago.  What I like to always say about this Festival is not only do they have all of these stages, with music on each stage throughout the day, but that it is Free.  Free Free….Free Free Free.  You can watch a group on one stage, and as soon as they finish, you have about 5 or 6 minutes to get to the next stage so you don’t miss anything.  According to reports, about 500,000 people from all over the world will be there so you might as well be one of them.  Again, the festival kicks off June 7th in the Windy City of Chicago, and it’s Free.  Did I mention that???  For the line up, we have a link to all the activities on the BluesNews Page at bluestimeinthecity.com…..
