THE BLUESNEWS FROM THE WORLD OF THE BLUESBLUES FOR THE WEEKEND OF JUNE 17-18, 2017 There is a move afloat by Jerry King of Starbreakers Production to produce the Sons of Soul, a production that will bring the past and future of music together, according to the press release.  This musical celebration so far is a tribute to two giants in Soul Music….Joe Tex and Johnny Taylor.  The torches have been passed to their sons, Joe Tex II and T.J. Hooker Taylor.  They are trying to get a full roster of sons together to present nationally the history and legacies of these great artists through their sons.  They’re in talks to bring on board, Otis Redding III, son of Otis Redding, Bobby Brooks Wilson, son of Jackie Wilson, and Gemini Burke, son of Solomon Burke.  They’re working on getting all the music together, and they will have the full production together soon.  We’ll keep you filled in on the progress….Sounds interesting…. BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM Living Blues Magazine is in the process of voting for their Living Blues Awards for 2017.  All ballots are due by July 15th.  If you read Living Blues Magazine, then you can vote for your favorite artist in categories to include Blues Male Artist of the Year, Blues Female Artist of the Year, Outstanding Musician to include Guitar, Harmonica, and Keyboard, Live Performer, Best Blues Album and many more.  The reason I like these awards is because I know a lot of the artists.  And, they’re keeping up with the times, like an award for the Best Blues DVD….. You can cast your vote at Living, or we have a link to the ballots on the BluesNews Page at…….   WHERE THEY AT WHERE THEY AT:
