THE BLUESNEWS FROM THE WORLD OF THE BLUESBLUES FOR THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 21-22, 2018 Great article on Zac Harmon in the April 12th edition of BluesBlast Magazine….It was written by a guy named Don Wilcock, who also wrote the Book You Gosh Darn Right I’ve got the Blues, the biography on Buddy Guy… In the article, Zac talks about every from his dad who was a Pharmacist, his experiences with B.B. King and Little Milton, to his experiences of writing songs. He even goes into what’s politically correct and politically incorrect in the Blues today. One of the highlights of the articles that Zac talked about, which was very touching to me, was his dedication to the Troops, so much so, that when they toured Kuwait back in 2009, they found out something that other acts did not do because of the danger involved.  What did they do??? They did it anyway…..Read the article, and you will thank Zac and others in the Blues for what they did…Great article by Don Wilcock in this months’ edition of BluesBlast Magazine.  We have a link to the article on the BluesNews page at bluestimeinthecity.com… https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#inbox/162bb4a38f23be58 BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM A few months ago, in the great state of Mississippi, they did something that they really need some props for.  They unveiled their 200th Mississippi Blues Trail Marker in the town of Lyon Mississippi, right in front of their Town Hall.  This started in 2006, and they have done an incredible job with this project, reaching 200.  They have markers all over the state of Mississippi paying homage to their home grown music,   it is in the state.  You don’t just see them, if you take a minute, they have some very interesting information on them.   Want to find more on the Mississippi Blues Trail Markers, we have a link to the locations on our BluesNews page at bluestimeinthecity.com… http://msbluestrail.org/blues_marker_list BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM BLUESTIMEINTHECITY.COM From the AmericanBluesScene.com sight, imagine if you would, you have doing what you love all of your life, and then, at the age of 81, you hit it big.  No, not winning the lottery, but hitting it big doing what you love.  That’s what happened with Leo Bud Welch who released his first album in 2014 at the age of 81.  Now, there’s a documentary on Leo titled Late Blossom Blues and it hit the stores Friday the 20th.  This doc was directed by Wolfgang Pfoser Almer, and it follows Welch enjoying his passion for the music and his late found success.  They even found some old footage of Leo performing his signature song Praise His Name, which is also incredible when you consider no one outside of this hometown of Bruce Mississippi had even seen Leo as a young man……We have a link to the trailer on the BluesNews page at BluesTime In The City.com…..Barry Kernzer wrote the article that appears on the AmericanBluesScene site…. https://youtu.be/fVX3JNw5M_0   WHERE THEY AT WHERE THEY AT:
